Connex 3300hp
Is there any way to improve the "ears" on a Connex 3300hp? Mine doesn't seem to be receiving as good as it should. I have tried several different antennae, and my Cobra 29 Ltd seems to pick up better. The tech who originally set up my radio ( now deceased) told me that Connex radios are notorious for having "weak ears". What can I do other than run an amp with a pre amp?

Re: Connex 3300hp
Like most imported conversion radios (I hate the word "Export") they don't see much time on the test/alignment bench before stuffed in a box and shipped to the states. A good alignment will improve the "ears" on just about every radio. As always the antenna has a lot to do with it too, a long properly adjusted antenna will hear better than one thats not.

Re: Connex 3300hp
Thanks for the info, now I've just got to find a reputable tech here in the Mobile Alabama area. All the guys I used to know are either dead, retired, or in jail.
