Hi All,
I picked up a very nice Galaxy DX99V. All Stock from what I can tell. Everything functions perfectly. I have a D104 Chicken Choker. It works OK, but I'm not sure it is the best mic for this radio. In short, I'm not sure a modulated mike is the best for this radio. Any opinions or experience with what we think the best mic would be? I was looking at the Road King, but thought I would post up here first to ask the experts!
Thanks
Dave

original roadking 56
or a astatic 636l
turn on the talk back adjust the echo to where other people can hear and understand what being said
what you hear coming out of talk back is different from what people hear
once you get it adjusted then turn the talkback off and leave it alone
alot of folks dont like to listen to the talkback squealers

A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone

Hi Charger1,
A power mic will enhance the quality of sound coming out of your radio, but one of the problems is that most want to run it and the radio wide open which is not a good thing. You did say if you were using the radio as a base or mobile, for mobile a handheld mic would be the best. For base nothing beats the D104 to me. Adjusting it properly is where most go wrong , if the radio was P&T'ed, turn the mic gain all the way up and adjust the mic from the best sound/quality. After that use the radios mic gain to adjust it's volume.
