After tracking the delivery of the RCI 2995DX, the radio has officially made it into the state of Illinois. It should be at my door tomorrow (hopefully).

The terminal where its at is only about 1/2 an hour away from here. Hmmmm... I wonder if its going to show up this evening? That would be cool!

If it was going to be delivered today it would say out or delivery, But if it is showing it is there , you can go pick it up ....I have picked packages up at the terminal before

As crappy as the weather is today (cold and pouring rain), I'll let them deliver it tomorrow. I'm not going to get stuck in Chicago expressway traffic in this garbage weather.

Well, the 2995DX was delivered today. Unfortunately I don't have a 6 pin mic to use with it. Bummer... So, there it sits until I get a nice desk mic ordered.

Just ordered a Silver Salute desk mic for it. Should be here Monday or Tuesday. Let the waiting begin!!!

Dont you have a desk mic now ? you can get adapters to convert from 4 pin to 6 pin.

I didnt think you would have that problem because my Galaxy DX 2517 is basicaly the same ( without the amp ) and it has 4 pin.

No, this one has a 6 pin. I did find the stock mic that came with it. It was well hidden inside of the styrofoam packing in the box. First reports are that its kind of muffled. I'm sure that has to do with the stock mic.

Let me tell ya, its going to take a little while to learn how to operate everything on this radio. Lots of bells and whistles.

As for a desk mic, I've been using a D-104 hand held mic. Now I have this fancy base station, I need the fancy mic to go with it. Hence the Silver Salute. I just hope its a good mic and I'm not wasting my money on it.

Also, the one thing the 2995DX lacks is echo. GI Joe's has a Galaxy desk mic listed that has echo built in to it. They haven't arrived yet. I may look in to one of those in the future.

Check on that adapter, it will let you check other mic's and how they sound. My base has the echo.
