Cobra 150 GTL DX mods?

#53825

Post by muthatrucker530 »

I have recently acquired a 150 GTL in a trade. I have yet to talk on it. I'm gonna hook it up 2moro out in the garage and see how it runs. It is new and never been cracked open. Any of you guys/gals have any words on this radio. How does it perform?

I have one, I have only used it in the house, so far;
it works better on high power, according to the locals.

I am glad to have a frequency counter inline,
to see where I am at............ :roll:

The channels change weird.

If it's never been opened you probably don't have 11 meter?
Easy mod, don't know if it's on cbtricks yet or not. I don't have one, but know a couple guys that do, and they are happy with them.

1.Remove power from the radio.
2.Remove Cover and locate the TMP87PP21DF microprocessor near the front of the radio.
3.Locate and remove the surface mount resistor (R138) to the left side of the microprocessor.
4.Power must be off for for a min of 15 seconds to reset the microprocessor
