no, you have a 50 ohm setup, to co-phase an antenna system you have to go with 75ohm coax,,,no benefit even if you would go with 2 antennas

Absolutely! Go with a single. In small vehicles, there is no benefit to two antennas. I used to snicker at the little Toyota in the area that had two firesticks on the mirrors. They were about 5 feet apart. All smoke and 'mirrors'. (Sorry, I couldn't resist!!!) :D

Heed the advice above,

It will be very hard to beat what you already have. That wilson 1000 of yours, mounted in the middle of the roof will do very well.

Good choice.

Now about that amp you've been thinking about....
Just kidding.
What you're talking on there is one of the best "bang for the buck" setups there is. It won't smoke mud-ducks, but at least your on the air!

An aftermarket mic would be your next cheapest improvement.

STBR is right, as always! Look at the ST-65DX noise cancelling mic from Sparky's ($29.95). I have one on my 29WXNWST and really like it, and everyone else on this forum who has one seems to agree. The next thing might be a small linear amp....

Well...I sorta agree with this. Except for the "small linear amp" part!

Once you have had a tast of "POWER"..."FIRE-N-Da-Wire"...It's like getting turned on to drug's!

Before you know it, you'll find yourself wanting MORE POWER! :o Then you'll be wanting a even bigger linear! Then a few weeks later...Even Bigger Box! It just go's ON and ON! :D

Then before you know it, your bank account is bone dry, and your closet is over-flowing with Linear's!

So go ahead, and bit-the-bullet, and get yourself a amp that cost more than your first car!:D

....just a thought. 8) You can always go down to the local Salvation Army to eat in their soup-line

Amen!

Personally, I eat a lot of Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup straight from the can, but I like it!

I've been in this hobby for four months and already I own three radios, four antennas, one linear and scads of coax and connectors.

Thank God I was never exposed to cocaine as a child  !
