On AM I have 3 and 3A, 4,5,6,7,and 7A.
Got a 11 and 11A, 15 and 15 A, 19 and 19 A and so on...
Someone care to explain? 🤔

Old r/c car control freqs. We use them locally to frustrate the hell out of people with stock or non-export radios.

That is exactly what they are and still to this day. The FCC allocated 7 channels to radio control modellers back when CB was coming around. There were 2 channels between CB channel 22 and 23 (called 22A and B) which are now channels 24 and 25 so they won't show up on the display of your radio as A and B. On other conversion radios these frequency are skipped on the dial because of this including when you change bands, hence a 10kc switch to get the skipped frequency.

Interesting sidebar.........

When my son was little, he had a cheap Rat Shack R/C car that used one of the A channels. The car's controller used tones of different pitches to operate the various functions. Once I realized this, I would use my Cobra 148GTL (with channel expansion & open clarifier) with it's more powerful signal to over-ride the R/C car's controller and take over his car. You could control the car just by whistling the proper tone(s) into the mic. Drove him nuts the first couple times I did it till he realized it was me doing it. :)

Hey there PA629,

Now THAT is the kinda fun I miss.
SOOOOOOO cool you could play with yer son like that.
I guess today that would be considered bullying, or harassment.

God Bless you my friend,

Mike
