A little more info, Laptop, desktop, etc. Acer is one of the brands that make other brand name computers, you will find them there boards in Dell and HP, only difference they use their own boot program. Bet there is someone more :icon_e_geek: :icon_e_geek: then me willing to chip in on this.

not sure just what you have going on but a lot of computers slow down due to garbage blot. you can try a program to help clean the registery files out. iobit has a free version you can try from downloads.com. it is called advance sys\tem care or ASC. you might see if thgis will help. I run it on all my computers and they keep running forever using this to clean the registery files out. it will even clean malware. I used it on XP and windows 7 and now windows 10.just a thought. may not solve your problem but will not hurt for sure. not sure just what peoblem you are having but windows likes for your computer to slow way down and stop due to malware so you will buy a new computer and system. here is the link to it. scroll down the page and it shows the free version and pay version. try the free version to see if it helps. you do not have to buy it at 1st. I get it for 15.00 a year for pro version and can put it on 3 computers.

click all the option boxes if you did not do that and run it to see how it does.
they also have a free defraq program that helps also. it keeps the stuf all together so the drive is not jumping all over the place trying to find items. there is a stock defrag built into windows and it does not do all the iobit does. just some thing to think about.

Don't click the saved passwords or saved form info unless your good at remembering that stuff. Another one I like is CCleaner, you can find it on CNET Download.com .

jon6667 CCleaner is more of a cleaner for deleting all passwords and cookies on your system. I have used it for years also with Iobit ASC and it will clean out all unwanted cookies for sure. I hope this program helps you out. if you watch Iobit they will run it on sale for 14.95 for 1 year and you can load it on 3 computers at that price and you get the pro version which has a speed up option and a few other items that will help your computer. I have 2 laptops and 2 desktops with it on them and my son and my niece have the Iobit on all their computers and they do not have any problem now with them slowing down.

I use both. I start with the windows "Disc Cleanup", then run "CCLeaner" and end with "ASC". IObit has a nice defrag program too. You wouldn't believe how much unneeded junk windows stores in the background.
