Top Gun Technologies Quad-5 mods

looking at this quad 5 Has any one ever had this radio Top Gun Technologies Quad-5 is it any good and I would like to put it in export mode ,any help would be nice.

Dude,

It is a very touchy radio..... best have a shop do the mod! Especially those new chips, concerned. The guys told you right.

Found that removing a 10k resistor worked for my top gun now i have 11meters

Good to see that was all it needed. How is the tracking of the frequencies now and did you do any other adjustments, keep us informed. Post the resistor position for others interested in the mod.

I think the "Top Gun" is the only one on that list that uses a "Top Gun Modulator" mod, I believe the fix could be to make a switch to take it out of line when on SSB.

I haven't looked but one of the other radios on the list may have a schematic and I'm wondering if it can be changed by the software.

What are you wanting to do to the Quad 5. I'v owned one for 1 1/2 year's and i love it.
