Nothing wrong with the compact CB's out there on the market. I'm a fan of the Uniden Pro510xl and Pro520xl myself. I have a couple of the 510's...one I bought back in '94 and it still works great to this day. They are a hard value to beat at just over $40 brand new. Heck, they have darn near 100% audio right out of the box. Not sure if that's the info' you were after or not?
Good luck

If you dont mind could you measure the face of the 510 for me? All the measurements online are of the top of it.

The New Uniden 680 is not a bad radio...It's (L x W x H): 6.25 x 6.2 x 2.4...

I installed one of these one time in the dash of my Toyota Tacoma in-place of where the little cubby-hole tray thing was at under the stereo.

Can you make that "space I have" larger? Most of the exterior moldings in newer cars are plastic and can be replaced.

That's what drills, jig-saw's, and dremel tools are made for!

Yes the Dremel4000 is I believe the best tool I have ever bought, the flex shaft lets you get into some tight areas the cut. That whole pocket area in your Blazer could be cut out to fit a 7" wide radio there and have enough plastic left to give it that custom install look.

A Cobra 25 LTD or GTL is about 6 & 1/4 inches wide, I believe there is enough plastic on the sides to remove and get it to fit quite snugly.
If you have a local auto recycler, see if you piece you need to cut and save the original for when you sell the Blazer.
