I'm thinking on getting one to use for a base station... i got the power supply so i'm good there what are the pros and cons

I think it is one of the better modulating "AM/FM radios" on the market, they are getting a little hard to find. It is a "conversion" radio so it needs to be modded for 11m which adds to the price. The receive is the same as any other model. You said you have a PS, how big is it?

That isn't big enough, bare minimum for that radio is at least a 30A supply. When a supply is rated they use the peak output reading, the continuous output is always less.

Like MD said, you need something with at least 30 amp. I myself use the Megawatt S-350 for my 2 radios, and will be buying another one to run my amp. The supply you have is fine for a radio. Check out the site, and mention your a member here http://www.megawattpowersupplies.com/
