Chronologically I'm 63, mentally I'm 25, physically I feel like I'm 80 some days.

I had my first radio in the early 70's and have been in and out of it several times since.

Mainly, I'm a listener rather than a talker both on and off the radio. I put my two cents in where and when I think it will do some good, but, I'm always ready to help where I can.
The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.

I'm 52 and I got started back in 1974 with my first love my 1973 American Motors Javilin SST and a little uniden 23 channel radio. Wish I had them both back again. Now I have a 2005 KIA Sorento with a Cobra 29 LTD Classic and still loving the air waves.

18 years old. Been at it just over a year, and I'm just getting started

Bought a 3 pill about a month ago, haven't got to use it. Currently my radio is on it's way to some guy named Mike. Has a shop called Radio Active Radios. Ever heard of him?

Got my buddy's radio installed a day ago. First time I've been on the air in about a month. I heard that skip and it just killed me knowing I didn't have a radio to use. Oh well...

Well after having a heart attack and doudble by-pass sugery in the last year, at 44 years old I feel 74. But I still have the desire of a 21 year old. I started in radios when my brother in law gave me a Browning Brownie 23 ch. and help me set it up as a base, that was 1976, Many a thousand of dollars aggggoooooo...........

This topic is so old, i may have already posted. I'm 38, in the hobby seriously since 83, casually since about 79, on a 3 knob radio shack with no meter on a tyco toy train transformer and a mag mount on the ac vent. Now that's mud ducking it. -drdx

I'm 44 right now and have been playing around with radios since the early 70's. I grew up next to a Detroit Edison sub station so there were always lots of high poles with REALLY good grounds to put an antenna on. :) I am officially addicted to old radios...23 channel ones especially.

I have a 1973 Royce 600, a Midland (857, i think, from the mid 70's), and an old Regency green face marine radio that i have been tinkering with lately.

My god this place is packed with young pups. I have a question. I only joined yesterday and am wondering. Is this site always slow or did I get on at a bad time? I'm on hi speed cable and this works like dial up. Not sure sometimes if I'll still be breathing yet before a new page comes up. LOL

I just turned 20 last week. I've been messing with CBS since I was 15. Instead of getting a cellphone like all the (cool) kids in our class when we turned 16. A few of us got CBS instead. my first was one of those cheap midland 1000's and a set of rat shack co-phased. on one day talked to a buddy that was 25miles away on that set-up. I was impressed :o

I'm a 44 Magnum. Been into radio ever since late 70's early 80's when my uncle gave me a Skyfon 23 I don't know if anyone has even ever heard of that brand. I don't think it was a very popular make.

22 here. I just got into radios a few months ago...this will add to my never ending lists of hobbies but i love it. Most of my friends are the 'cool' kids that want really nice luxury cars, but I'm not like them. I keep my '99 Honda and put the Wilson 1000 Trunk Mount(roof mount soon) and Uniden 520XL Pro in it. Right now I just have a basic setup but it will definitely grow.

After getting into CB, i started to also got interested in HAM/Amateur radio. I am studying to get my license
