Sideband Skipping on Uniden Bearcat.

I managed to get my new Sirio GPE 27 5/8 wave antenna about 44 feet in the air on Friday. I have the Uniden Bearcat SSB 980 hooked to it and am running barefoot. This antenna is exceptional for long distance skip . The best hookup I had was to Kenai , Alaska on Sat afternoon with a 15 minute or so chat with the guy putting about 4 db on me and my signal on his end was 7 db. That is a very exceptional antenna. I like it and look forward to hooking up with some of you on this web site. I go by the 333 Evergreen Base/Washington State on side band and run 39 lsb and 36lsb. It is fun being back in the game. Have also chatted to Michigan and Ohio and a few others.

I will look his videos up. I do hear some on sideband which seem to drift , sounds like radios with clipped clarifiers or some mods which did not do the radio right. I get really good forward modulation with this set up and the Sirio but with a low dead key on AM which is what we desire.
