New Radio Being Installed Tomorrow

#325937

Post by Toothfairy »

So after years of talking on AM, I am having my new Galaxy DX 979 installed tomorrow and am anxious to reach out on SSB. My wife is already looking forward to being my shotgun radio mama. Anyway, for those on 38 lsb tomorrow night, keep an ear out for us.

The install went well. My stock SWR sits at 1 for channel 1, 1.1 for channel 19, and 1.3 for channel 40. Not bad for just dropping the whip in and clamping it down. Unfortunately, I cannot hear a peep out of anyone. Occasionally, I will hear a very faint voice but it quickly fades into the noise. I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow night when I am closer to town and the interstate.
