Galaxy 33 hp2 (carier and modulation problem)
has reduced carier and modulation, touching any metal can Corrects the problem. Flex on the board causes problem to return. Can't find any cracked joints. Am regulator also seems to get to hot to quick. Any one else run into something like this? Any help is always wanted and appreciated.

Re: Galaxy 33 hp2 (carier and modulation problem)
There still could be a broken trace. Try loosening the board attaching screws, (don't remove them, I would also have the solder side case cover on and tight), give the radio a slight shake (not violent but enough to move the board, keep an eye on the regulator, driver, and final) and tighten down the screws, See if this helped. I've seen a couple radios that worked fine without the covers but not with.
As for the AM regulator getting hot just tells to me the radio is turned up way too much, go through and tone it down a bit.
