Post by G2527 » Saturday, 30 April 2016, 19:23 PM

Hello All, I just got a Galaxy DX99V2 and it is not set up with all frequencies. Does anyone know what to do with the jumper wire? Remove it? or move one of the wires from the jumper to another location? Thank you for any help with this. Right now it is on 28.0000 and abcdefgh switch is not changing anything.

Hello G2527,
Welcome to the forum. Look at CB Tricks, your radios has a mod for channels there along with a couple other mods.
As a new member could you post a intro in the "Welcome to the Forum" topic, viewforum.php?f=89" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , so others can say "Hi", thanks.

Thank you for your reply. I have posted a welcome topic also. I have checked cbtricks and they only seem to have it for GalaxyDX99V , not the new 99V2 model. I did however follow the same method by removing the short jumper wire. But it also says to install loose plug to J3. When I took off the cover for that side, a plug was already installed in J3. So, I'm thinking either I shouldn't have removed the short jumper completely, but maybe should of just relocated one side off the short blk jumper side like I saw on you tube for the Galaxy 99V. Not sure Here's the instructions from cbtricks

Galaxy DX Radios DX99V
Documentation Project
CBTricks
Frequency Conversion

1.
Remove the bottom cover from the unit and locate the Band PCB EPT004410Z on the left side of the radio. Remove the screw holding the board and plug in the loose connector J3 on the component side as shown above.
2. Unsolder and remove the short jumper wire on the solder side of the Band PCB, and re-mount the board back in place. The radio will now work from 25.165MHz - 28.755MHz

what happened when I did this(just removing the jumper) was instead of having just 280000, I now have 250000 frequency only.

lol, I'm hoping to do this myself instead of sending out the radio.

Ty~

I have looked around and so far have not found the mod for the 99V2. someone else was looking and found it a few months back. I am still looking so keep searching on your end also.

I finally found the post on how to mod the 99V2. at least it worked in 2014. hunted it down off a forum.it says it mods like the 98hp.

I just saw the same one, it looks like moving the jumper one trace up is the ticket.

I'll try moving it one position like the video shows. Hopefully that works. TY all for the help.

I had this radio for a while. Curious to see if you have issues in the winter time. Mine was brand new and worked fine in summer time but in the winter the modulation lamp would come on in receive mode until the car warmed up for around 20 minutes. Roger beep would not work in cold tempatures either until car warmed up. Power meter also would fail in cold weather. 25-30 degrees is when it would act up. Could you post a "winter" review on this radio when the time comes. Just wondering if all 99v2's have this problem.
