'Cut throat' ain't bad. It can be fun. But the real game is 'strip pool', that's the one that'll separate the men from the boys. If the place is very busy, don't even start. But if it's a 'slow' night...

And if you think 'cut throat' is 'serious', you ain't seen nuthin' yet!

One pocket is my favorite. I quit playing local tourneys in 2009 but still play once a week on my table at home. I need to start playing serious again.

I've played since I was a teenager, got a nice Steepleton in the man cave.
8/9 ball, cut throat, rotation, 1 pocket, etc.. it all depends on how many players..

Unfortunately, I don't get to play much. There is only 1 9' Diamond in town and I'm a barbox shooter these days. Most of the table at the poolhall are the 7' diamonds.

I grew up on the 9 foot diamonds & Gold Crowns. Became a a run out player. Spent most time gambling, played a few tournaments and won & lost. One of my best friends is a fellow by the name Scott Lee. He is a professional trick shot artist & instructor. http://www.poolknowledge.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for anyone who would like in home or town lessons.

Me loves one pocket. In case you anyone was wondering, my username Str8stroke is pool related.

I frequent AZBILLIARDS, so I know of Scott Lee. Living in the country I played leagues and BB tourneys only but I have been wanting to get serious about it again. We( the misses and me) quit in 2008 and miss playing. Last year her baby boy left for college but her Mom moved in and needs watched all the time so we can't catch a break. She told me to play the local tourney, at the Cue Club(Richard Harris maker of Bluegrass cues),back in Nov on the 7' Dia BB and I got second. It was inspiring but then I got blood clots in Dec. and Jan. I have a friend that has been playing a lot of 1p there, Richard bought the 9' Dia off him for the pool room, and hope in a year I can get back to playing good.

Very interesting ...all this time I thought it was car/Hotrod/V8 related.
