1983 Radio Shack Burger King Radio

Post by Radar-DLDN » Friday, 11 March 2016, 6:45 AM

We all talk about how Radio Shack really went downhill in the last couple of decades, and it did, but they weren't afraid of a gimmick back in the 80's

Impressed it works, given that it has been in that package as long as I have been alive.

What a idiot... that could well have been the last un-opened radio of it's kind left in the World, worth tens of thousands to the right person...and this num nut opens it up just to do a youtube video...

I would say he probably bought several off that "auction site" and the YouTube raised the price up, there are several on their now going for a lot more than the $4 he said he spent.

There's only one listed there right now that's still in the package, and has a $140+ price tag on it, and you can see by the packing it's been opened at one time and someone has tried to reseal the box which automatically makes the item almost worthless to a true collector...

The other radios listed have no box's, but look to be in decent shape considering the age, and they have them listed at close to $50.

On a side note...I'm like the guy in the video, I don't care for anything Burger King sells. But there's no-way I would have opened that package just to make a video knowing there's people out there that collect that kind of stuff, and someone else apparently was thinking the same thing maybe since they held onto it for over 30 years without opening it up...(most likely tho what happened is the radio was stolen from a Radio Shack store by some kid, and when his Mom found out about it she took the radio away and hid it, then years later someone found it in the back of some closet) :king:
