#389123

Post by tonyvlx »

Going to be using my CR-577 mic on my newly aquired Realistic TRC-451. Need a adapter to convert Standard 4 pin cobra style to the Realistic 5 pin style.Purchased a adapter made by Workman but was completely wired incorrectly inside. Can anyone recommend a brand/product number so i get the correct one. Thanks

Give our sponsor, CB World a call and tell them the radio model, they should have the right one you need.

the "Workman C4P5DIN cobra 4 pin mic to 5 pin Din RS Realistic adapter" should work on that radio, might need #2 pin connected to #4 pin using a diode. I have seen a few from the factory wired screwy, not just the RS models.

Most name brand Mic Companies will provide you with the wiring diagram for the Mic to radio.

I have found it best to make my own with a section of audio cable and an inline 4 pin male plug, it seems a few of these ones on ebay etc don't work. If you're ok with a soldering iron, the wiring or pin outs are available on line. I run a 4 pin Uniden adaptor patch lead with my TRC-451 DIN type connection.

And that ladies and gents is why I scoured Ebay for a Realistic noise cancelling power mic when I was running a TRC-465... Good radio, funny mic connector.
Coils = loss.
Good audio, Quality coax, sturdy mounts, good springs, and a big stainless stick get you out and give you ears!
Mobile 1:President McKinley II FCC, Realistic 102" SS whip, President DigiMike
Mobile 2:Same as 1 but with a WIlson 1000.
Base: Realistic TRC-465 with Realistic noise cancelling power mic. 102" SS whip.
