I've read the manuals. Watched youtube. I was hoping someone could just say. " push the button and turn __________ dial until ___________

select the channel you want to use on transmitter. Push the spot tune the receiver for highest needle reading on receiver

It links the receiver to the transmitter. If you have the banana Mike it should squel after you spot.
