Can't click on the pic to open up the photo, "Photobucket" is the worst. Next time try the forum's image poster for pics.
A little hint on amplifiers,, if it has a driver, pill or tube, doesn't matter which, it requires a low drive wattage so figure only a single final radio is what to use with it.

Re: Button
Just look straight up from the topic to the index bar,, see the "Img-Upload", use that instead of "Photobucket".

Since "Photobucket now wants you to pay to view your own pics why not change to "PostImage", https://postimg.org/ ,free and plenty of storage and friendly with this forum format.

Re: Button
I have one of those, only mines called a "Kicker 500"...There's several versions of that Amp, including the Firebird 500, but all of them are the same, just different paint jobs.EZ CHOPPER wrote: ↑September 13th, 2017, 1:12 am I got this Apollo 500-x2 linear and the buttons are war off I can see the AM and SSB cant really tell what it off and on and stand by and how many watts can you drive into it and how many watts would it put out, it has a 1 driving 3 tubes in it if any info on this would be great. Thanks
The first button is your operate and standby button...second is On and Off...third is AM/SSB
It should have 4 6JE6A 6LQ6 tubes in it...1x3
These amps were not made to be run with radios that swing much more than 12w's, they can take a 4w DK tho, just not allot of swing...and it will get hot since there's no fan inside (unless someone has added one)
To tune the thing just push your Mic button and turn the Driver knob till the needle on your meter peaks. Then do the same thing with the Antenna knob. when you see the needle on your meter drop off, go back to where it peaks, and leave it there...
Should see between 300-400 peak out of it, depending on how strong the tubes and caps are... (that's what I see on my Dose anyway...MFJ-868B reads a little higher)
Here's a pic of mine:

Re: Button
If you are seeing 400 to 500 watts out of that little amp you are driving it way too hard, those tubes weren't meant to make that kind of power, Jesse is right about 300 to 400 tops, that range you will sound good, then again you could have a really generous watt meter.
