when it dont key up the light will switch from green to red

Another cold solder joint. Pop the back side of the case (not the speaker side) and look for a bad connection, mainly in the front quarter on the mic jack side.
In today's world a lot of shops won't even consider looking for bad joints as it takes up so much time, that is the reason repairs for this take so long, they only work on them on a slow day.

sounds like a bad solder joint to me also. take a tooth brush and push around on the board in the area you was told to look for a bad joint and push on it to see if you can hit a spot to make it work.just key up the mic and poke around. even try the bristled end of the brush to see if you hit a spot that will make it work. that will be the area of a bad solder joint.
