ive got a dx 55 hp, and the frequency counter on the radio reads,10,655 But it is on the right frequency with an external counter.all the channels are right on with and external counter and other radios but the counter on theradio will not change from 10.695 , no matter what channel your on

The radio's counter is only reading the first crystal so I think the problem is between the counter board and the channel selector board. The first thing would be to check the board connectors to see if they are tight, if that doesn't do it, start looking for a cold solder joint, that radio is known to have quite a few.

its a 55v not hp

There isn't much of a difference in the boards, they are all RCI's.

from memory I think they made 2 or 3 versions of the radio. hml and V which are single final and the HP version that had dual finals. all else is the same inside.
you 1st need to check for bad solder joints causing you the problem you have with the counter not working right.
