Tried jumping both and no luck..........the trimmer doesn't have enough range to compensate. Someone on another forum said this is common on these counters and it is a fault built into the microprocessor. fc390 freq. counter

i know this topic has been brought up before but..........has anyone come up with a fix for the problem of the counter reading a couple khz. off after being modded for a Grant XL/148GTL.
I have 3 of them and only one read spot on after soldering JP1 only.............this is board#EPT210014D

Using a Dosy pm2001 and just to verify i hooked up some of my Grant xl's.....all of my Grants show 17-18 watts PEP.
As for using a dummy load....well of course, i wouldn't want to interfere with the last 4 operators here in Dayton, Ohio....lol

checked the parts suggested by Sonoma as well as replaced tr34 that was pm'd as a suggestion......still same output. I must let you guys know that when setting the driver bias it would set at the recommended 30ma but if you wanted it higher it would not go any higher than 34 or so. I do not know if ...

Hmmmmm.....my mitshubisi data sheet states 16 watt for the 2SC1969......... Either way I have been using the Eleflows for about 5 years now and to be honest I usually get about 1-2 watts more PEP from them. Driver is a 2166 from RFparts and the final is a CB-20 made by Eleflow......it's a direct replacement for the 1969.

redlight......the lights do not dim and i have tested the radio in both ac and dc power.

Tried the 102 whip cut down from the static tip and it will not fit(too thick). I did find a website that sales both the 71 and 79 Sirio whips.....a little pricey at 17.95 each but if you need one then what is a few bucks....what is amazing is I ordered them Thursday and they were delivered Saturday...

Thank you all for the replies-the mfj1964 is not long enough as the Sirio whip is 79 inches. I did find out that A-1 Telecom sales the whip but they only sale to dealers. And I'm sure that as a dealer you have to purchase a good number of them so maybe that is why there not everywhere.

The 3"**NON-SPONSOR** puck works great but the bottom plate that screws on needs to be machined down another 1/8 on the sides so you can put a wrench on it.I like my stuff very tight. Robert

It is a great antenna but if you need a replacement whip then your screwed. I've tried several dealers that sell Sirio antennas and they all tell me they are not available.Something to consider when purchasing one. Robert

I just picked one up for my collection and right off the bat I noticed that the backplate is "inletted" or machined down so the President label is recessed.
That is much more than just putting a sticker on it. I wish I could find the original advertisement for this mic.

Does anyone know the details about the D104 that has the President sticker on the back of the mic head. It reads President on the top of the sticker and engineered for excellence on the bottom. I have ran both several times over the last 20 years and my take on it is:
If running a stock or HP type radio (100watts) then both perform the same.
If running a linear then go with the 1000 as it is built to handle it.
