I have CRT9900 which is same radio.. Gets REALLY hot if using full power on radio so i adjusted it inside to around 15 watts peak on SSB and now can use linear with it.
I mean that the power knob is now 1~15 wats max..
Othervise radio has worked well for chinese cr*p..

That is interesting. The CB features look much better than the cassette tape. There are other cb's that were designed that way with the cb channel indicator on the mic, they show up occasionally on ebay. Post a picture of where the mic plugs in. Good luck! Just boughted Midland Alan 95 Plus handheld cb..

Easily modified it to 400ch FM/AM, listening is GOOOOOOOOOD.. Sending about 4w FM/1w AM.. The longer antenna was optional (better than the original one)

In Finland it`s pretty small kinda hobby for us.. Back on 80`s almost all traffic on the road was on cb`s but not novadays.. i have plenty of old 22 + 11A channel radios.. They are in hard use around here because most of the calling channels are 7 or 20 FM..
