hey I know it kinda sounds stupid, but have someone talk to you and watch your meter..... if she's movin like it should try swapping out mics.. I always carry at least 1 spare mic with me. I have had this happen to me and switched mics and got sound back. If its a receive issue take er in.

Re: Dissasemble predator 10k

You got that right about being around 7ft. I just got a 9" shaft single coil. Some people told me that I would end up cutting 2 ft off to get the swr down, but instead of trimming the whip I ended up raising it. (The raising of the whip came after I trimmed my first whip because I couldn't get calib...

Re: Touch antenna and swr goes up, please help

You are correct, the meters built into radios are usually not very accurate. In other words don't trust it or you may lose a radio. They are ok as a reference after you have used a seperate meter to adjust swr. In my opinion one of the better meters is Dosy. The bad part with this meter is the price...

A buddy of mine who is also on here - grocery hauler - has just purchased one of the new connex 3400 hp radios. He also has some cobras and a general lee. So far he is very happy with this radio. The respect is definately appreciated. A lot of people think that us truck drivers have easy jobs, they think we are dirty and gross, and are "scary" people. These people don't realize that we have to put up with their dumb driving techniques and habits. They also don't understand the amount of weig...

Re: Any metal detectorists?/

Well bad news for metal detectorists in Wisconsin. A new Department of Natural Resources "Archeologist" has taken it under his own power to pass a new set of laws for metal detectorists in Wisconsin. Basically what it says is that the only places you can detect are your own private lands. No public ...

I agree with Iron Horse. Savage is said to be the most accurate out of the box. So bang for the buck they have it even though the stocks are cheap. There must be some reason that a lot of swat teams/snipers are outfitted with them.

The way I understand it is that to run on side band you have to have others to talk to on side band. Or you can search for someone. Once talking to someone you can get exact frequency and adjust clarifiers/voicelock. (I believe that is how it works.) I've only ran side band a couple times. Regular a...
