I've sold off most of my cb gear. Got my license last year. Have bought the typical boafeng, Kenwood TR751( 2 Meter All-Mode) and a 4 element yagi.

I just used a ham test app on and off for a year. A few weeks ago I noticed a test near me so I got up the app again for a week and passed the tech. For the general I need/want a book to study instead of learning the correct answers.

I know this isn't a demodulator but... I made a simple pickup for my scope with a coax "T", I unscrewed the pin from one connection and shortened it so it wouldn't make contact. Works fine and the pin is threaded, so it's adjustable.

Homebrew 2 tube 6jb6 amp and Teaberry T 40ch. Radio works, amp only had 1 tube in it. Gonna buy a pair and hook it up to the T, it keys 2w swing about 6w.

sounds like a good plan. The antenna is the most important part of a station. The 5/8 and.64 wave are the best verticals.

You should have a dead key of 3-4 watts if you're swinging to 13. 100% modulation is 4 times your dead key. You have a lot of carrier and not much audio. You need to have a tech tune that radio.

10 watt dead is way too high. I hope you mean swinging to 10 watts. If you are dead keying 10 you are probably not transmitting much audio.

I just bought an Aircastle 162F1H. It is my first SW so I'm not sure what freq to tune to. One thing I don't like is no SSB. Hopefully I can make a BFO circuit for SSB listening.

Bought a TRC-465 a few weeks ago and it just replaced my Uniden Grant in the Saturn SC1. It is a virgin radio, dead on freq, turned ALC up to 12w and turned the AM down to 2w carrier. swinging about 7w.

I was given a wilson 1000 that had about 4 feet of coax. One thing about changing the coax is the 1000 uses rg-58 and if you use rg-8 the hole needs enlarged in the plastic cover for the larger coax.
