Depending on how well you know your neighbors you could probably get away with the Procomm Pat-12 installed on 10 or 20 feet of mast in the back of the house. Biggest difference between those two, is the M103 can only be set up for Horizontal polarization, or Vertical, but not both... The Y-Quad go's both ways...You would have two coax cables running to this antenna and back to your station where you would need a switch, so you can go from Vertical to Hor...

Easy fix...
Disconnect florescent light...Replace with a LED light fixture...problem solved, and you'll save $$$ on electricity and bulbs.

Yeah, HOA's wouldn't know a HAM antenna from a CB, or TV antenna... But as long as the HOA's can't see it, you can get away with it. Just have to be good at camouflage.

It may have been wired so if you were using a external speaker plugged into the PA, you would have "talk-Back"...Just need to reverse the mod.

Well, I have the HOA issue at my home-20 and so far I am getting away with a Patriot 12. I'm thinking of putting up an I-Com 2000 in the Spring on a pole and tripod in the front yard. Mount a flag on it, below the antenna, and put a light on it so I don't have to take it down, and then I'll be set....

HOA's have as much pull as the NRA when it comes to home owners...Most neighborhoods that have HOA's would not want radio towers with large beam antenna's in their neighborhoods as they see them as "eye-sores"... i used to leave mine in the truck. until it got stolon.now i bring it in at night. quick disconnects. What radio? Some radios that have the back-lit face plate will do that...there is a fix, it involves taking the cover off and pulling wires to the face plate lights away from the wires hooked to the mic jack.
