That isn't big enough, bare minimum for that radio is at least a 30A supply. When a supply is rated they use the peak output reading, the continuous output is always less.

Check for a bad solder joint, this is a pain because of the SMT board but it does happen but before you do make sure the problem isn't the microphone.

I think it is one of the better modulating "AM/FM radios" on the market, they are getting a little hard to find. It is a "conversion" radio so it needs to be modded for 11m which adds to the price. The receive is the same as any other model. You said you have a PS, how big is it?

If they are beads they probably can be reused with new wires installed, the 455 filter could probably get out of a donor/parts radio. I have no clue on how that could have happened.

A quick test to see if it is the audio circuit is to plug a speaker into the "EX SP" jack on the back and try the "PA" jack to see if the PA works. If not the problem might be in the microphone, it also could be the bluetooth. The little round cylinders you are refering to are probably capacitors, t...

Since nothing inside the box has an RF signal plastic will be fine. When you build something like a sampler or a meter enclosure then I prefer a metal box. If you are worried about any interference you can add ferrite beads to the wires.

I wouldn't run the amp that hot, it won't take the abuse. I think the lighted SPST switches will only work when the make/break poll is a ground. You don't want to be suppling the mod with a 12v source, it will fry the PLL circuit. now on the other hand using a DPST switch, one half is the 12v souce and a ground the other can switch the mod.
